The Parc de la Mar will be the setting for the new edition of the party that starts the summer of 2017.
The night of Sant Joan marks, in part, the beginning of summer. The night of June 23 is celebrated the eve of the saint, considered the shortest and most magical night of the remaining 364 days of the year. To keep the tradition alive the beaches of Mallorca are filled with people who go to dinner in the light of the moon and from midnight to attract happiness and love through their curious rituals.
The celebrations in several points of Palma, Calvià, Deià, Muro, Son Servera and Sant Joan stand out. In addition, in many places outdoor concerts are organized to liven up the evening. You can celebrate this special night at all the beaches of Mallorca, but here we propose you the closest ones to our hotel:
- Our Beach of Son Caliu. Right in front of the Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis you find a beautiful little beach with crystal clear waters where you can also find the Son Caliu Beach Club. Our proposal for this magical night is the "Upgrade dinner", which is for hotel guests who have half board, to have the option to enjoy a wonderful dinner at our Beach Club next to the beach. You can also enjoy this evening with a delicious cocktail.
-The beaches of the municipality of Calviá. These beaches are some of the busiest this evening. In addition to enjoying the evening on the beach, you can enjoy concerts and activities to brighten the night.
-The beaches of Palma. There are many beaches where you can spend the night on the sand or if you prefer, you can stroll along the promenade and enjoy a lively atmosphere until after midnight. In addition, concerts and activities are organized on the beach of Can Pere Antoni, Ciudad Jardin, Can Pastilla, Cala Major or El Arenal.
The Parc de la Mar will be charged, another year, with a lot of fireworks, a lot of noise and many demons. Starting at 6.30 pm a children's workshop and a "corredimonis" will be held, at 9.30 pm the proclamation will be held by Dimoni Bufó, a demon hunter. The main dish will be at 10pm with a "correfoc" in which will participate ten "colles de dimonis" (bunch of demons), with much pyrotechnics and finally, a band will offer a concert.
On the beach of Portixol, Greenpeace organized the event #residuzero, which seeks to invite attendees to celebrate the Night of San Juan without leaving rubbish on the beach. With this initiative, citizens are called to go to the beach with their own glasses, cutlery and reusable baskets, and avoid plastic bags, cans and packaged, with the aim of leaving the beach as clean as they found it. Find more information also in our blog about cleaning our beach.
From the Hotel Son Caliu Spa Oasis we hope you spend a magical and unforgettable night, the night of Sant Joan on Mallorca.
